A few simple habits help your washer clean better, smell fresher and last longer — and can prevent many of the washer repair calls we see across Oklahoma City.
Clean the Drain Filter
Many front load washers have a drain pump filter behind a small door near the bottom. Clean it every few months to remove coins, lint and hair that cause draining problems and error codes.
Wipe the Door Gasket
After each load, wipe the rubber door gasket on front load washers and leave the door cracked open. This prevents mold, mildew and the musty smell that builds up in the gasket.
Don’t Overload
Overloading strains the motor, bearings, suspension and belts. Washing medium-size loads gets clothes cleaner and prevents shaking, walking and out-of-balance problems.

Why is my washer not draining?
The most common causes are a clogged drain pump filter, a failed drain pump, a kinked drain hose, or an item like a sock caught in the pump. Check the filter first if your washer has one, then call or text (405) 464-1191 — we can usually be there same-day or next-day.
Why won’t my washer spin?
A washer that won’t spin usually has a drain problem, a bad lid switch or door lock, a worn drive belt or motor coupling, or an out-of-balance load. On some front load washers it can also be a failed motor or control board.
