A few simple habits help your range light, heat evenly and last longer — and can prevent many of the range and stove repair calls we see across Oklahoma City.
Keep Burners Clean & Dry
Make sure gas burner caps sit flat and igniters stay clean and dry. A wet or dirty igniter causes constant clicking and burners that won’t light.
Wipe Up Spills Quickly
Clean spills once the cooktop cools. Boil-overs can clog burner ports, short out igniters and damage glass tops and control knobs.
Use the Right Cookware
On electric and glass tops, use flat-bottomed pans that match the burner size. Warped or oversized pans heat unevenly and can damage elements and switches.

Why won’t my gas burner light, or why does it keep clicking?
Most of the time the burner cap is out of place or the igniter is wet or dirty. If cleaning and drying it doesn’t help, the spark switch or spark module may need replacing. If you ever smell gas, leave your home and call your gas company first. Call or text (405) 464-1191 for repair.
Why is my electric range burner not heating?
Common causes are a burned-out burner element, a loose or burned terminal block, or a failed infinite switch. If a burner stays on high, the switch usually needs to be replaced.
