A few simple habits help your oven heat evenly, stay safe and last longer — and can prevent many of the oven repair calls we see across Oklahoma City.
Use Self-Clean Carefully
Wipe out heavy spills before running self-clean, and avoid running it right before a holiday or big meal. The extreme heat can blow a thermal fuse or lock up the door when you need your oven most.
Keep the Door Seal Clean
Wipe the oven door gasket gently and check it for tears. A damaged seal lets heat escape, causing uneven baking and longer cook times.
Don’t Line the Bottom with Foil
Foil on the oven floor can block airflow and trap heat, damaging the oven bottom and the hidden bake element. Use a baking sheet on a lower rack instead.

Why is my oven not heating?
On electric ovens it is usually a failed bake or broil element, a bad temperature sensor or a control problem. On gas ovens the igniter is the most common cause. Call or text (405) 464-1191 — we can usually be there same-day or next-day.
Why won’t my oven door unlock after self-clean?
The door lock stays engaged until the oven cools down. If it stays locked after several hours, the lock motor, switch or control board has usually failed — we can repair it.
