Keeping your washing machine clean is key to controlling the odor that all washers produce. Cleaning the gasket on your front load washer will also increase the lifespan of the gasket and save you on a costly replacement gasket.
It is important to run a clean washer cycle once a month to help with the soap buildup in inaccessible areas of the machine. This buildup can cause the metal inside the unit to breakdown leading to extremely expensive part replacement.
One of the most important maintenance that one can do on most front load washers is to clean the drain filter. Most of our customers have never been told to perform this maintenance. Once debris is lodged into the filter, some may break loose and make their way into the drain pump area causing the drain pump to fail. Regular cleaning of this filter will, without a doubt, extend the life of your drain pump. It is important to note that not all front load washer filters can be accessed by the customer, but if yours is, it is definitely worth the trouble to perform this maintenance.
